Case Study · CarbonMinus

B2B SaaS · Climate Tech · Professional Plan

Built for global scale. Maintained to match.

CarbonMinus launched into the competitive U.S. climate tech market with a new name, a new brand, and a new website. For a team running enterprise deals and investor conversations simultaneously, the site needs to work every time, without exception.

Before NoDrama

A global launch is no time to be winging maintenance.

CarbonMinus didn't have a painful backstory of a broken site or DIY plugin panic. NoDrama was in place from launch day. But that's exactly the point.

A site at the centre of a U.S. market push, running investor outreach and enterprise buyer journeys simultaneously there is no room for the quiet things that go wrong when nobody's watching. An outdated plugin introducing a vulnerability. A backup that was never tested. Performance eroding on pages that need to load fast.

The site was built right. NoDrama's job is to keep it that way.

The honest audit

What we found when we looked.

This is what a standard NoDrama onboarding audit looked like for a newly launched site of this complexity.

01

No staging environment.

Every update going straight to live. For a site running active campaigns and investor pages, that's one bad plugin update away from a critical failure.

02

Backup on default hosting plan.

Monthly snapshot, no off-site copy, never tested. A restore test would have been needed before anyone could trust it.

03

Five launch-phase plugins without production hardening.

Default settings, no login protection, standard file permissions across all five.

04

Page speed baseline not established.

No CDN routing for campaign landing page assets, which is important for a site actively running U.S.-facing outreach with investor landing pages.

05

No uptime or performance alerting configured.

Issues would only surface when a team member noticed them, not before.

The work

What we actually did. Specifically.

WEEK 1

Onboarding audit + plain English brief

Full site health check across plugins, themes, core version, backup status, security config, and performance. Sent CarbonMinus a plain-English summary five items, in order of priority, no alarm.

WEEKS 1–2

Staging environment + backup overhaul

Configured staging environment. Switched to 12-hour off-site backups with 90-day retention. Ran a restore test. It worked.

WEEK 2

Hardening and plugin review

Updated and hardened all five flagged plugins. Applied standard security configuration, login protection, file permission review. Removed two abandoned plugins not updated since before the site launched.

WEEK 2

Performance and CDN setup

Established performance baseline. Routed campaign landing page assets through CDN. Load time on key pages dropped from 4.2s to 1.9s.

MONTH 2 ONWARDS

Weekly update cycle

Every update plugin, theme, core goes to staging first. Visual regression runs across 20 key pages before anything goes live. Monthly report sent on the 1st.

Zero is the goal. That's the whole goal.

In their words

The site launched into a competitive market and we needed it to just work. We haven't had a single moment where we've had to think about the website since NoDrama came in. I get a report on the first of every month. I read it. Nothing bad has happened. That's the entire arrangement.
